OB history short hand question

Thread Starter
I got the card from my mw, and it has all the essential info about office visits and ob history.

Can someone explain it to me.

It says
Ob history
#preg G_T_P_A(I have a m written in - assuming thats a missed abortion) and L_

So, gestations, T? P? Abortions? and Labors?

G = gravida = number of times you have been pregnant
T = term = number of deliveries you had at term (after 36 weeks)
P = preterm = number of deliveries you had preterm (between 20 and 36 weeks)
A = abortions = number of pregnancies ended before 20 weeks, either induced or miscarried
L = living children = number of children you have alive

Thanks!!

Makes so much more sense now...

One more question, what actually constitutes a preg? Or when does it get put on the books (I've had a few "chem preg" and I cant figure out which preg they are counting as abortions...) I hate the term chem preg bc to me they were all lost babies.
