better to get metal fillings removed now under correct procedures, or wait?

Sorry, another question from me. :

I've been trying to read through the long threads about this subject, but with my toddler climbing all over me it's been a little difficult.

I am nursing a 21 month old and TTC. Would it be better to leave my metal fillings alone until I am done breastfeeding/being pregnant or is it safe to have them removed under the correct procedures listed on the IAOMT website? I have found a dentist in my area that follows all the guidelines.

I'm unsure after reading whether it is better to leave my 2 metal fillings in my mouth, or if it would be better to have them removed now under the IAOMT guidelines? By leaving them, I feel like I'm exposing my toddler and future unborn child to mercury, but having them removed is dangerous as well. I don't know what to do! :

The removal of just two fillings is not that big a deal. You can pump for a few days, and get a blood test after if you want. It would only delay TTC for about a month.

If they follow the IAOMT protocol perfectly, I would definitely get them out and then just to be safe wait a couple of months to TTC.

I had two removed by a regular dentist, got sick, felt horrible and truly regretted what I had done.

Then I had two removed following perfect protocol. I felt great and now have more energy and no problems with insomnia any more.

Due to be exposed to a horrible amount of mercury during improper removal, I am waiting to TTC.

Thanks for the replies!

I hate the thought of waiting to TTC, although I know it is best if I have the removal done. I had a miscarriage in February and we've been TTC since.

I could pump, but we would have one angry toddler...nursing is mainly comfort for him right now and we'd have a heck of a time at bedtime!

I'm in the 2WW right now. If I did turn out to be pregnant, it would be best to wait until later right?

The place that I found follows protocol perfectly...they have a PDF file that you can view with their procedures, and it's exactly what the IAOMT site lists. He's a biological dentist, but not holistic. The closest holistic dentist is 2 hours away from what I can find, and their website didn't even touch on proper removal of metal fillings like this dentist's does.

The 2 fillings are in one tooth, I told my DH maybe I should just let them pull it!
