NEED Some Advice.Should I Spend $ On Holistic Dentist? Is This Bar In My Mouth Toxic?

Here's my situation...
I have a metal bar behind my bottom row to keep them straight that I have had since 12 and wondering if it's toxic? I have bone growth under my tongue that starts from each side and has almost completely grown together. This has pushed my tongue up and back since it doesn't have room, and sorta blocks the drainage for my saliva and causes me to get saliva pooling on the corners of my mouth, and a lot in my mouth. I was told at my last appointment I would need it surgically removed soon, so somehow I need to time it between BF and getting pregnant again. I have also noticed bone growth on the top of my mouth on the outsides and can actually feel bone poking through. I was told all of this is caused from me biting down at night.
I have undergone neuromuscular treatment for my TMJ ad they made me an orthotic for it, but honestly I think the treatment has done all it can do. I was told that eventually I would need braces again.

I have found 1 Biological dentist in my area, who even has links to Weston Prices site on her site, but she is really expensive. For an average(not deep)cleaning and an exam is $240, where my old dentist is $85 and it includes a deep cleaning and an exam. Money isn't abundant right now otherwise I would just go to the holistic dentist.
So my questions are:
Should I spend the money, is there a way I can find another holistic dentist(is there a website list), and does anyone have any info on all my issues above?
Please help! TIA!!

I'm so glad you asked these questions...I'd also love to know about the bar as I've had one since getting my braces off 10 years ago, and I'd love to know if there is a website where you can find biological or holistic dentists. I hope someone can answer your questions!

You don't need a holistic dentist to get the bar removed. It is probably surgical grade stainless steel.

I can't answer any of your questions, but I can tell you that chances are you've nothing to worry about getting it done while breastfeeding. Check out this link:

I wondered about that too. I had one forever behind my lower teeth. Dh has had one for at least 15 years and he is extremely healthy. I was always far more concerned about my amalgams, which I got replaced in Costa Rica for only 1k total, and that was for 9 amalgams. I noticed that my teeth moved back a tiny bit since having the bar removed though, but it was worth it since it always bothered my tongue.
