I was due June 2nd, but our 2nd son (4th baby) decided to arrive on his daddy's birthday - May 26th! I had planned a waterbirth at our local birth center, but had to transfer to the hospital by ambulance because the baby's heartbeat had a decel. His heartbeat was fine for the rest of the 17 1/2 hour labor (my last was 4 1/2 hours), but I had an IV (they placed it in the ambulance) and continuous monitoring (I could get out of bed and use the birth ball etc.). My support team was *awesome* and I am in love with my TENS machine which really, really helped with the intense back labor! Seriously, I want to bronze it and display it in my house - lol! The other excitement was when I was fully dilated, they discovered he was breech! It was very crazy for the next 10 - 15 minutes, but thankfully I have quick pushing stages and Lucas beat the anesthesia team to the OR. So I had a vaginal breech in the hospital - almost unheard of around here
His apgars were 9 and 9 and I only had one stitch. We are doing great and Lucas is super cute!
Good luck to all the other June Mamas!

Maybe that will help the next mom-to-be.
