Okay, so a somewhat embarrassing topic of discussion. . .DH and I have dtd a couple times since birth and, well, both times I have bled after--bright red blood. What's up??? Never had this with DD or DS when we dtd after, but then again, I don't remember how long we waited.

We haven't either but I must admit. I miss sex and I look forward to engaging in a little activity pretty soon. I'm waiting though because I am 3 weeks pp.

I 'm 6 weeks pp and we dtd at 4 weeks and 5 weeks pp and I had bleeding similar to what you are describing both times afterwards. I think it's just a matter of the activity getting the uterus to get rid of anything that's left over, maybe? My dr did not seem too worried or suprised that I am still having bleeding since it's not high in volume, regardless of colour.

If you are concerned then talk to your care provider...otherwise as long as it's not a huge amount or accompanied with really bad pain I would not be worried.

My mw told me at my 4 week visit that it was okay to resume sex as long as there was no more bleeding. She also said that sometimes sex will cause bleeding and if that happens to wait at least a week before trying to do it again. I haven't spoken with her since the 4 week appt. She has been somewhat weird since the birth. . .distancing herself. I did think about calling one of the docs here on base (since I have a few other things going on with my body and talking with someone without an interpreter might be nice), but I'm honestly not ready for the confrontation about what happened with Naiya. I guess I will just give it some more time and hopefully the bleeding will stop!

We dtd at 2 weeks pp and I didn't have any unusual bleeding, just the normal. Maybe it stems from the activity, like when you overdo it?
