Father's Day Gift idea?

So I'd like to get something really special for my hubby, soon to be daddy for father's day. He bought me a great little gift set from http://www.earthmamaangelbaby.com/ (ok, yes I did give him the hint!). I'd like something equally as special, meaningful, useful, etc. I keep seeing ads for silly t-shirts, etc. Not really my cup of tea. Any ideas out there?
thanks...
wow, getting so close now (we're due June 9th!)

I was all set to answer with what I just bought for my DH, but it's a silly t-shirt! Actually, it's two silly t-shirts: from ThinkGeek, because we're giant nerds.

As far as something more poignant/meaningful goes, how about a new copy of his favourite book from when he was tiny? My DH, for instance, loved The Little Pony Engine (in North America it's The Little Engine That Could). My MIL gave him his old copy of it for Christmas this year, so that he could read it to the Bean when she's born. He was so overwhelmed that he actually got tears in his eyes! So if your DH loved One Fish Two Fish, or Alligator Pie or something, I think a copy of that for him to read to baby would be really lovely.

I splurged for DH's first Fathers Day and got him a digital camcorder, but there are lots of options. I love the book idea! Or you could get him something for baby care - a carrier or diaper bag in a "manly" fabric could be really nice. Or maybe music that he and the baby could listen to together.

I tend to stretch things a bit. This year, DH wants a self propelled lawnmower. I'm debating whether that can be justified as something that will let him spend more time with the kids!

Well, this year I got a coffee mug from snapfish.com (it's a big mug with a picture of DH and DD on the side).

Since we don't have pictures of the "new babe" I'm guessing Roro will give her daddy something covered in baby footprints...which is what her older sister gave DH last year. I took a plain white t-shirt and let dd decorate it with fabric paint. Mostly handprints and footprints. Actually, there's a picture on dd's website at http://notfarfromthetree.com/JulyLaia.html (it's about halfway down the page).

I really like involving the little one in the Mama/Dada day gift process, which is hard when they're so tiny, but still doable!

Maybe a cd or small item you know your DH wants, with a handprint or footprint or u/s photo on it? Or a gift certificate to a restaurant or store your DH likes "given" by the little one?

I hope you find the perfect gift!

The best Fathers' Day gift I ever gave was when our son (my second -- our first child together) was still a baby.

I got a solid dark necktie (he worked in an office then) a pretty silvery grey color from WalMart. I dipped my son's little feet in white paint and made three little footsteps up the tie.

I also made a solid black tie with one handprint of my first son's (he had just adopted him).

He got comments on those everywhere he went.

Unfortunately, it was the best idea I ever had and now I give up trying to beat it! Now, it's just ice cream and some yard implement.

I really like the "memory books" from www.snapfish.com
You can add pictures of you both before baby.....
