In Sept 2005 I had to have six composite fillings put in my teeth, and one of them included the removal of a metal filling from my childhood. At the time my son was 10 months old and still nursing (he still is at 2.5yrs). Anyway, I told the dentist that I was nursing because I was worried about the anesthesia he would use but I had never heard of mercury release from removing old fillings. Now, around the same time (literally the same month) my son's eczema became horrible. We were in and out of allergists trying to figure out what to do and as a result of trying claritin to help him sleep, he develped constipation which has lead to withholding, encropesis etc... My question is - was he exposed to mercury during the removal? How would I know? We are now gluten free and that has helped the eczema but it isn't gone, and his withholding really strikes me as some kind of sensory issue. I don't know what I'm looking for here ... some kind of reassurance? I am just sick with anger that the dentist knew I was still nursing my son but did the procedure anyway. So any input?
