OK, I'm new to this so go easy on me if I don't do this right. I live in the southwestern part of Georgia and "green" household products are not plentiful here. I have recently decided to revamp our lives on several levels and have started using natural products for house cleaning. So far I love it but find that the few products (laundry detergent, etc.) I find in the store here are too expensive. I have some recipes for laundry detergents and general household cleaners but can anyone tell me a good website for buying things like Charlies or Dr. Bronners soaps? Also, are they cheaper to use than the leading commercial brands.
Also, we have very hard water here and I'm using equal parts of Borax and Washing Soda for laundry detergent with white vinegar in the rinse cycle. Can anyone tell me about how much of this mixture to use in my machine (top loader, energy effecient Fisher Paykel) or if there is anything else I might try. THANKS!!
