Fitteds or AIO's?

I have some fleece and some cute cotton fabric, and a bunch of fleece topped soakers that are already sewn up. The only thing is, I can't decide which to make:
Fast dry fitteds (flap style soaker) with fleece shorties / longies
-or-
Fast dry Fleece AIO (again with the flap style soaker)
Which should I make?????

If it helps, my son is in sizes XS/S right now but he's finally starting to grow a little faster and -
I have about 12 S/M pocket AIOs, 24 S/M/L contours (with elastic), 8 small wraps, 8 medium wraps, 2 small crocheted covers, 1 small recycled wool shorties, 3 medium fitteds, and 3 medium-large wool longies. Oh and some prefolds, but use those mainly to stuff pockets and toss the microfiber to the side .

ETA: I'm looking to make more for his M stash probably, but advice on this too would be good.

So, what should I make? I'm so confused : . . .

any opinions?

i personally love fleece AIO's, but i am a die hard fleece lover, dont care for pul at all. That being said, i rarely use my aio's, i mostly use fitteds w/ wool covers, or coverless around the house. Can you just make some of each?

okay, i just reread and see your stash list...i would def make some fitteds if it were me.

Cool, thanks for your opinion. Now I'm thinking I'll make both!
Quick question, though: when you make fleece aios, do you use 1 layer of fleece or two? Also, how many layers of cotton do you typically use (body/soaker)? TIA!!!

well my son is a super heavy wetter, so i usually use 2 layers of fleece...i guess it would depend on what kind of fleece u use though too. I have made some AIO's out of fleece blankets, w/ only one layer , and they work well for the daytime...but i would never try them in a car ride, or at night kwim?

i usually do 1 layer of microfleece or flannel inner, and a layer of outer cotton, with a hidden layer also. (so 3 all together) soakers, i guess it depends on what you are using. I usually use flannel , and do like a 8 layer if it is thin flannel, or i will do 5-6 layers and throw a layer of terry in too. i kind of eyeball it, so the diaper is not too thick, but thick enough it will hold. it also depends on how much you change them too. HTH!

I don't like AIO's, so I would say fitteds and covers. That gives you more options- like going coverless, or using a wool cover if you feel like it.

I say fitteds too.

I like being able to coordinate the cover with her little dresses... LOL When I use AIOs I find myself bummed when she pees in the one that matches.

OK, lame excuse really. But at least I am honest.

I do sometimes put the cover of choice on the AIO too... seems kind of pointless though.

lol

I also vote for fitteds. Its a lot more economical IMO. They wash easier and dry faster and to change a diaper you can reuse the cover. Well, I don't know can you reuse a fleece cover. I have only used PUL. That is my main reason though. But anyway fitteds are more flexible.
