: Hi. I went to the Dr yesterday and was told to do what I can to get labor going. He told me to have sex 3 times a day, but my husband wont do it. The Dr said that the baby is very low and that I chould be at least at 2 or 3 if not a 4. But I am not. I started having contractions AGAIN last night. I went to the hospitle, but science i was not dialated I was sent home. I was told that when I move a sertin way the heart beat either slows or stops. This cant be good for the baby.I just don't know what to do!!! I NEED HELP!!: : :

Could you have misunderstood? If you move a certain way and the the heartbeat slows or stops, then I can't imagine anyone would let you go home from the hospital.

It sounds to me like you may have prodromal labor--labor that starts and stops for several days (sometimes weeks) before progressive labor kicks in and you begin to dialate. If I were you, I'd relax as much as I can, and wait for good strong labor to begin.

Be assured that if there was a problem with the heartbeat or the baby, you would have been sent for an induction immediately. If there was a medical reason for the baby to be born right now, they would have done that. Since there apparently is not, why rush?

Just relax, and DON'T go to the hospital until you can't talk through them anymore. If you are talking and acting fine during the ctx then you are not in active labor. If you are having those light ctx, just go on with your life, eventually they will get stronger. early labor can go on for a very long time sometimes.

Unless you want a world of interventions thrown at you, do NOT go to the hospital. Stay home until you feel like you can't take it anymore, then go. Going too early not only gives them tons of time to mess with you, it can stall labor. Remember that babies come when they're ready.
