What's it like living in Argentina?
What is birth like there? I saw you had a previous home birth, can you tell us about it?
How are you feeling these days with your new one due?
What does your son think about a new baby coming?

How is the weather now where you live?

Have you had plastic surgery? I've heard that Argentinians are into plastic surgery.

Are there a lot of babywearers in Argentina?

What sorts of wild animals live around you, if any?

Answering this really depends on what part of this huge country you live. Life is very polarized and different in different provinces (states). I live in Buenos Aires, the capital city, which is a very western kind of city...it has more to do with european and US ways in many things that in other argentinian provinces ways.

4 years ago when I was preg with ds1 the whole natural childbirth movement was little. I found an awesome place founded by some holistic guys and a woman who lived in The Farm in the 70's, so there was something. Now, 4 years later, the natural cb movement, even the homebirth movement has increased monumentally. It's awesome, there are groups and conferences and doulas and midwife's and debates in hospitals all over the place. Of course, it's like in the US, you can hang out with groups of people where all babies are born naturally, and then you go to the market and you tell someone and they look like you have 7 heads, the you're crazy and neglectful line, etc. It's a hard work of years changing the mainstream ways, like everywhere.
OTOH in other provinces where the latin american roots aren't too lost like in big cities like Buenos Aires, it's most common, but like I said, it really depends on the place.

At the time I was pregnant with Manuel, there was very little info available in spanish on homebirth. I found a few books that lead me to that homebirth/AP place I told above when I was 7 months along. There I met a mimdwife but wasn't sure if I wanted one at all. I reached 42.6 weeks and agreed for her to come and check me, and she finished being in the birth because I birthed that very same day. I woke up at 10 am and said to my then partner (exdp, I have another dh now), "hey I dreamt of the mucus plug coming out, so cool". I finished that sentence to the feeling of the mucus plug actually coming out. It was cool indeed. We called my sister and hanged out, had lunch and a great time with contractions but me talking through them still. I don't remember the time, but around 3/4 pm things got intense and Manu was born at 21.27 pm, surrounded by candles and soft music, totally uneventfully. It was beautiful and calm and intense at the same time.

absolutely not ready yet, at least in my mind...My body is beginning to feel kind of ready. I'm a planner and make lists all the time, and my lists are huge. I have all these diapers to sew by myself, because not many are sold around here and I'm determined to CD. I really hope to get things done before little being arrives.

He's very excited. Maybe it has something to do with him being 4, he gets the whole thing very well. His only disappointment was that he wanted a baby sister . I think he's over that now and is planning all sort of things to do for and teach his little brother

we are near winter. The four seasons are very clearly marked here. It was very cool and chilly last week...but today is like an usual early spring/autumn day. Talk about global warming

not at all! I've never heard or met a single person with plastic surgery. Plus it's such an expensive thing! No way argentinians are into it. There are very well-off people that live in their own bubble that may do that, but i'm sure they are a very little percentage of people.

same with the natural birth/homebirth movement... at least in big urban cities like this, 4 years ago they gave me weird looks when I was wearing DS. Now it's all over the place, lots of people/places sell slings and it's kind of trendy.
Like I said before, in northern provinces away from industrialized cities, that haven't lost the ancient ways, they babywear since forever. It's so beautiful to see.

No wild animals...I live in a big urban city, sadly I have plans of running away from here and live a more homesteady, close to earth life as soon as we can, in another province...there are many birds, little foxes and lots of cool animals around

Do you drink wine? If so, what's your favorite Argentinian wine?

Have you always lived in Argentina?

What type of vegetable is most likely to be found on your dinner table?

I love good wine. You mean grape variety, right? argentinian Malbec is the best for me. Second place, Syrah.
