Canadian drugs

I heard a little blurb yesterday on NPR about the U.S. government possibly prohibiting the sale of Canadian (read: less expensive) drugs in the U.S. because they "cannot guarantee the safety."

Does anyone happen to have any links to information on this? I want to read more, but am popping in while working and don't have time to search around.
