I was looking for an all natural body scrub for the shower and I couldn't afford the ones at Whole Foods and so i was gonna go home defeated until I saw some Dr. Bronners Peppermint soap. I bought a small bottle (2.99) and came home and mixed about 2oz with a 3/4 cup table salt and a little water to help it mix. I used it this morning and it was sooo invigorating!! Nice way to start my morning and my skin is silky soft! I can't wait for another week to go by so I can use it again!

I luuuuv the peppermint Dr. B's in the morning...especially if I've had a late night . I just wish I could use it more, it dries my skin out if I use it more than a couple times a week

Have you tried diluting it? I was reading all the little blurbs on the bottle and it said to dilute 2oz in 2 gallons of water. So I don't know. I also followed my shower with a rub down of moisturizer!

Oh yes, I always super dilute it. I just have extremely sensitive skin.

You could do the same with the baby mild version....maybe that one wouldn't dry out your skin!

I made up a batch of my olive oil body wash with this yesterday instead of the almond and I LOVE it!!

Even cheaper and easier is just to mix up olive oil and sugar. I use this on my body and face and I get so many compliments on my skin. I use it every day. You don't need a "soap" part because the olive oil pulls out the dirt from your pores. If your underarms are really stinky you can add some baking soda there.

Added bonus: your skin smells and tastes sweet.

I heard that that doesn't have a very long shelf life because the oil can go rancid...so do you just make a small batch up every couple of days or what?

Ooo how do you make that?
I mix 1/2 cup of olive oil, 2-3 tbls each of honey, dr bonners and water. If it's to thick for your liking dilute with more honey or dr bonners this is also nice a face wash. I put in a blender to mix, this usually last me about a week so I don't have to worry about anything going rancid.

I just use white sugar or brown sugar (cheap kind) and i mix up only enough for a few days and keep it in a closed tupperware. You don't need to use a lot-- it spreads far. another good thing is you don't need shaving cream then, after you rinse off the oil/sugar, there's enough oil left on your legs to shave with.

it doesn't clog pores, it cleans the oil out of your pores.

i just pour some sugar in a bowl and mix until i like the consistency. you can put it in a squuze bottle, but only enough for a few days.and don't let water get in it, if you're using a jar then scoop it out with a spoon, not your hands.

I used the oil/sugar scrub this morning; I love how my skin feels soft and moisterized, I didn't even need to follow up with lotion. I mixed just enough oil to help the sugar spread. Now I can finally get rid of my white sugar! Thanks Altair!

I tried it with coffee grounds the other day. It felt really good, and since I don't like coffee, but I love the smell, I enjoyed using coffee.

(I used it with the peppermint soap)
