the contractions i had all day at work were the real deal. i came home from work at 4pm and had a headache. so i took a tylenol and tried to nap on the couch. i couldn't sleep through the ctx. they were uncomfortable but not really 'painful'. around 6pm i felt a GUSH and jumped up off the couch so it woudln't get soaked. and amniotic fluid gushed out onto our rug. isaac asked 'mom did you have a leak??" (he tells me 'i had a leak' when he pees his pants)
so i continued to leak with each contraction and my dh and mil were like 'go to the hospital!!' but it still wasn't really 'going' and i was reluctant. but we started getting ready. i tried to eat dinner. my doula had another client whose water broke before mine so she lined me up with a backup. i finally decided it was time to go because they got painful. really painful. the ride was painful.
we got to the hospital at 8. the brief version is that i was already fully dilated and needed to push as soon as we got here. it took 40 minutes and a lot of coaching to get ebin out. he was 10 lbs 15 oz and 23.5" long. i was expecting at most 10 lbs 2oz or something. i suspected he was pretty big. anyway it was the most insane pain i have ever experienced. but such sweet relief when he was out
he was born at 8:40
it looks like we got a lot of full moon action babies around here! awesome!
