how long
how often
do you use a breat pump or just your fingers?

I've seen a few different ways to do it either yourself or with the breastpump. The one I liked best is to roll your nipples for 2 min. Rest for 3 min. You keep this up for 20 min. Then if the contractions aren't strong enough you roll your nipples for 3 min. Rest for 2 min. Do this for another 20 min. I thought this was easier and didn't make them as sensitive. It definitely brought on contractions but I'm still not in labor yet. I'm gonna try again tonight though!

I've heard that it works best with a double electric breastpump for up tp 20 mins at a time. I've only tried manual nip stim and that is how I went into labor last time.

dude... I used a double breast pump and pumped for a whole movie to get things going, as soon as I stopped so did they ( the contractions), my husband did nipple stimulation with his mouth for minutes at a time and thats what finally got our babe in my arms last time ( I was 20 days late and facing a c section if I was admitted to the hospital cause I pist the doc off: ) that and black and blue cohosh!

Im nursing now still and get some contractions when he nursing for long periods of times, like half an hour to an hour

My doula told me that all these things we do can help bring on contractions but that in the end baby decides when he/she is ready....I've been trying everything from sex to nip stim, to Primrose oil....and nothing. Mostly I am afraid to be late like my last pregnancy...I was 3 weeks and 2 days....and nothing...had to go in and get induced.....and ended up with c-s......so......this is a topic that very much matters to me. Thsi time around I will try acupressure around 40 weeks....they say it works.....

What about Acupuncture (not pressure) a friend of mine did it the day before she was supposed to get induced and viola! she had the baby naturally the next morning. I should warn you that you should find someone who is good and knowledgeable as far as inducing labor. Acupuncture is not fun when you are dealing with someone that is not a pro.

This is the method we discussed in doula training:

In the shower stimulate one side for five minutes, then the other side for five minutes. Rest for five minutes and repeat. Then take a walk for 30 minutes.

Repeat this process three times or, in other words, for three hours. Our trainer said that if labor didn't kick in after that then the baby wasn't ready.
