Mine is blown up and sitting in the baby's room right now. When we first got it we did a trial blow up to make sure there were no holes. A few weeks ago we blew it back up to have it ready for the birth. It's one less thing we'll have to do when labor starts.

With dd we blew it up early, but probably won't this time because then dd would be all in and out of the pool and tracking dirt and toys in. We have an itsy bitsy apartment and don't have an area to stash it where it would be safe !

I did and I'm so glad I did, it stunk up the room I stored it in for weeks!! I opened it around 28 weeks and turned a fan on and opened windows!! And the room still stunk!! Maybe you could put it outside? or in a garage?

my pool arrived friday and we're working on trying to blow it up as i type...thanks for the reminder!!

even if you dont care about the gases, etc, you totally need to blow it up in advance to make sure your pump works, see how long it takes to inflate and to make sure there are no holes or leaks!

We let our blown-up pool off-gas in our garage for about a week. Even so, leaning on it during labor, I was so ready to vomit from the strong vinyl smell. Eventually my mw put lavender oil in the water but then I was nauseus from that!

So I'd say definitely air it out!
