Got rid of the last of our "free day" stuff today. Everything left in my house right now is either coming with us, or being taken to a family's barn to be stored until we can buy a house (brand new washer/dryer, antique bed that has sentimental value that I know we'll have a use for in a house, plus a couple of boxes of "keepsake" stuff). We also have a queen sized bed that is being picked up by a friend this week.

I'm having serious guilt issues about the stuff that's sitting on the curb tonight. We normally go several weeks without needing to put out a garbage bag, so I'm hoping it'll all "even itself out." But still, there are like 3 garbage bags out there, plus a mattress, and a box of computer parts, two cruddy old particle board desks that have been taken apart (they were on their very last leg, and only needed a gentle shove to "dis-assemble" themselves), and 5 outdoor chairs we had that fell apart in the humidity last summer and cannot be repaired.

We're up to 2700 items for June. ALMOST hit the 3000 mark! Man, we'll never amass this much junk again, I can tell you that much.

Slow but steady progress. I still have a few days left, but so far today:

12 boxes and
3 bags of newspaper/packing materials gone to a friend whose moving
3 pieces of random trash I came across in the garage as I was getting the boxes
1 old mattress cover that was stuffed : in one of the boxes
1 large box of pictures that my Mom mailed to me unpacked and put in the room where they will be hung.

Grand total so far: 95/500. I also listed 60 items on TP, but no bites so far (so if any of you mamas need plus size casual business clothes...) Not so sure I am going to make my goal, but I have big plans for this week...we shall see. Anyway, progress is progress, even if it is not as much as I would like. Tomorrow is another day. Brownie points for the movie reference

Busy morning cleaning but I have made good progress! I am babysitting this afternoon, and the 4yo is a bit...wild, so I needed to get rid of soem piles out of self preservation. So today I have:

--taken care of 2 large piles of built up magazines, school papers, and junk on the couch and put it away [I intended to count each item, since I had to go through it piece by piece, but I couldn't keep all the numbers straight!]
--except for the 138 things : I threw away
--I also cleared 1 container of leftovers from the fridge
--straightened and organized 1 coffee table

So, my new total is is 237/500!! making progress! I also have some items pending on the TP, so when they go...

I wish I could have seen this before the near end of June! I just moved to a new town and got rid of SO much stuff. I wish I would have been counting.

The great thing is that I got rid of 2 crates of books--I took them down to the used book store and got $11 in store credit and $40 in cash! This is HUGE for me! I hoard books like crazy. As a former English teacher, I feel like I am betraying the characters or something. Well, that's what the public library's for!

I got rid of at least 20 things tonight from the medicine cabinet and bathroom drawers.

I have put half of my bookshelf on paperbackswap and I'm sending books out like crazy; which means I get points for free books; (good for homeschooling.)

I took a bagful of stuff to the thrift shop today.

Ditched a ton of my wardrobe. I am waiting for payment on dipes, changing table and swing and more ... totalling $170! Sweet.

I just have to clear the mantle and I've reached all my June goals!
