IUD and Diva cup

Thread Starter
I've had an IUD since January.
This past period (which was unusually heavy for Mirena standards), I thought my IUD had slipped. The strings were almost hanging out of me. I went to my midwife and everything seemed ok. She just happens to keep the strings long, and the strings had already tucked themselved back up around my cervix. We determined that when I took out my Diva cup, I must have had a string stuck to it, and moved it out of its place. She had never considered the diva cup causing a problem with an IUD. I am considering only using pads at this point, although I do love my Diva.

Has this every happened to you? Should I stop using my Diva?

I know that I'm a bit late, but I have an IUD and I use Instead Softcups, which are a lot like Diva Cups from what I understand. it has this warning :

Are there any women that should not use the INSTEAD® Softcup®?
Women using an intrauterine device or IUD should not use the INSTEAD® Softcup® as there is a risk of dislodging or removing the IUD by pulling on the IUD string while removing the INSTEAD® Softcup®.

I never paid it much attention, but after reading your story, it seems a lot more relevant. Thank you.
