What about dental injections (to numb pain, or knock unconscious)?

My toddler has broken several of his front teeth (in half) and may need dental work done if decay sets in. As I understand it, pediatric dental work often involves putting the child unconscious (which requires an injection). At the very least, he would need something to numb the pain if they have to drill near the nerve of his tooth.

So, do these injections contain mercury? Do you avoid having any dental work that would require an injection?

I'm not sure how to contact a mod, so here goes:

Dear Mod,

Please move this post back to the vaccination forum. I posted it there because I specifically want the input of the injection/vaccination experts there. People who hang out on the Dental forum are probably very knowledgeable about teeth but I am not asking about teeth, I specifically want to learn about injections and their possible detrimental effects.

Thank you!!

There's no mercury in dental injections. Mercury is in vaccinations to preserve them. In local anesthetic there is nothing to preserve, just the medicine.
