So, I'm looking around at the different options, LC, CBE, Doula, Midwife. I've looked over th Ancient Art Midwifery Institute and I'm interested, but think I may want to start a little more slowly... want to "test the waters" a bit first.

DH and I have discussed in the past me becoming a CBE, and Bradley seems like a popular way to go around here. What's the difference between Bradley and ALACE? I can do the Bradley training locally, but to do the ALACE, I'd have to travel. Honestly, I've only ever heard of ALACE here on MDC, so I don't even know if there's a market for it here... anyone have any thoughts on that?

What is the certifying body for LCs? I did the training 12 years ago, but didn't finish the practicum, so never got the cert. I'm pretty sure now it's much more involved than it was then.

Is ALACE the only certifying body for doulas?

Just exploring my options right now... being a SAHW is pretty boring, and since it'll be probably a year before a little one comes along at this point, might as well do something with my time.
