Ever heard of Xtracycle? Here's a link to this inspiring green company.

Moreover here's an awesome jazzy poem by one of the founders. Great stuff. (A bit of mature language, so I wouldn't call it kid friendly.)

My DP just happened upon an Xtracycle at a local pawn shop, of all places. So now we've joined the ranks! A couple days ago he carried home four 20' lengths of gutter and gutter supplies on it. Awesome!

ANyhow, I found the poem very inspiring. I hope you do too!

My DH rides his bike to work almost everyday; 16 miles each way. No shower at work so he uses the sink and a wash cloth. He take an extra set of padded shorts/bike jersey/socks for the ride home. He rides a Trek and wears a normal backpack with blinkey lights.

16 miles - that's awesome! Even without shower facilities. I'm so impressed!

My DP bikes to work, but it's only 1.5 miles, so he doesn't work hard enough to warrant a shower. Our biggest concern is the awful air quality. We're afraid he's developing asthma. When he bikes on Orange Alert days he gets a strong tightness in his chest, even on this short ride. So we're considering a respirator.
