Need someone ICEA ICCE certified

I have ?'s regarding ICEA's ICCE certification. I am ALACE certified, but I need to obtain ICEA certification for my hospital contract position.

Does ICEA have modules with homework like ALACE? or is it just study modules and then the test?

ICEA requirements: (as I understand them)
1. observe 2 births
2. observe a class series
3. being observed teaching a class series
4. take the exam

Is this it? Am I missing anything? Please help...
Thanks

Hi there,

I think it depends on whether or not they will accept the ALACE certification as a way to go straight to taking the test. I was Bradley certified and also needed the ICEA for a new job at the local hospital. Because I was Bradley certified all I had to do was send in a copy of my certificate, pay membership dues and pay the $200 fee to take the test.

I had to wait 60 days between signing up for the test and when I could actually take it. I didn't have to complete any of the other requirements. You should call the office and see if your ALACE cert. will work the same way (though I think it also required a certain amount of hours of teaching under your belt too)?

Good luck!

Yes, I looked into this, but they won't take my ALACE cert because I don't have enough time certified/teaching.
Thanks though. I called the office and left a message, but haven't heard back from them. I've heard that they're a little slow at returning calls
