Dr. Gillespie on Dental Appliances And The Role Of Brain Therapy
The first article is AMAZING! Let's discuss!
Dd1 (age 7) had her orthodontic consult this morning. She is young, but she's way ahead of schedule as far as her teeth. Her mouth is crowded & he said that if we don't want to pull teeth, we should start ASAP with both top & bottom expanders. He said that if we had just gone ahead with the dentist's plan to put in a space maintainer, he would have just had to remove it right away to put in the expanders. If we had waited any longer, it might have been too late & extraction might have been the only way to make room for her other adult teeth (unless we left her teeth crowded & overlapping.)
So it'll be expanders for about a year, wait a couple of years to see how everything pans out & then braces for a couple of years. Unless I find some info on cranial work & find a holistic orthodontist who is open to this.
Dr. Silkman (author of the first article posted above) mentions that palate expansion is the answer, along with proper nutrition (raw dairy - a traditional foods diet [NT]) & cranial work. The 110 dollar question (for 15 minutes) is, do I want Dd to have an expander in her lower jaw, or do we just want to expand her palate?
I also want to know if the chiros I know who do cranial work know this "cranial/sacral osteaopathy and S.O.T. chiropractic approach."
What to do....what to do...
