I have a question, lol...

Or at least just one for now.

we are starting to purchase our cloth diapers and I want to make some as well. I have a question on waterproofing and leaks. It's probably going to be a silly question....

I don't 'have' to use PUL material for waterproofing do I? aren't the paddings/fillers/stuffers enough to help keep clothing dry? Well.. given normal use situations that is.

I think I've done so much looking that I've confused myself :

Only one question?

No, you don't "have" to use PUL for waterproofing...but the padding/filling/stuffers **aren't** enough to keep clothing dry. That's why people usually only let their DC go coverless in fitteds around the house, and with no pants/shorts over top--you have to change as soon as wet.

If you want a waterproof fabric other than PUL, fleece or wool are good options. They're more breathable than PUL as well.

Well, *technically* fleece isn't water**proof** (unless you get the coated kind)...but it is water-resistant and makes very good covers

Lots 'o info about fleece here: http://www.mothering.com/discussions...d.php?t=672438
just 'cause I don't wanna copy and paste is all in here

The first few dipes I made were with fleece too. Its pretty easy to sew and you can get some really fun prints in it as well.
