after birth pains

anyone else?
this time is so much worst than with dd, and i have a cough so that also makes it all hurt.
What is anyone using? I did not use anything with dd, but last night i almost felt like i was in labour again except the pain was not going away!

i had them with all my births.they do seem to get worse each time.i was told its because ur uterus is more relaxed the more babies you have so it has to contract harder to shrink back up.
i took prescription strength tylonal.but u could get extra strength rapid release tylonal over the counter.a more natural option...hmmm....i would be interested in that too if it worked good.good luck i hope it gets better.heat might help too.

Homeopathy choices for AFTER PAINS

Sally-- Here's what my homeopathy book lists for afterpains. Several choices, depending upon your specifics.

* After pains intense: Sabina
* After pains last too long: Aconite
* After pains too painful: Aconite
* After pains violent: Arnica
* After pains with great sensitiveness: Cimicifuga
* After pains with nausea: Cimicifuga
* After pains with vomiting: Cimicifuga

If you didn't take Arnica before your birth, that would probably be the first one I would try, as it is a great reliever of muscle aches/pains, so should help with some of the after-effects of the marathon which is giving birth.

My Midwife has it a manditory thing to stock up on "Afterease Tincture" by Wish garden herbs. You can get it at Whole foods, or wild oats or Health food stores. Apparently it really works well!

I wish I had read more about this before I had the baby. I've used ibuprofen and cal/mag the past few days. Thankfully it's finally easing up. It was so bad I would feel like throwing up everytime. I kept telling myself that it was good that my uterus knew what to do, but it still sucked. I had no tearing and no real pain anywhere else. These are my only complaint.

YES! This stuff is great. I use it along with Advil. I usually take 2 Advil, but if things get bad I take 4. Afterpains were really intense for the first 3 days this time around, and now I get them once a day not as strong. I'm 10 days pp.

Oooooooooooooh, I got them too! I can really feel them when I nurse. It seems that they get worse with each birth. I love the afterease stuff too and I ordered it from moonflower.... I think the web-site is cascade1.com. welp, new baby calls for some milk!
