Antibiotics and tooth decay...

DH, who's had great teeth all his life, suddenly has a mouth full of cavities (12 or more). I'm trying to figure out what could possibly have affected his teeth so severely. He was on antibiotics some sick number of days last year (like 80 or 90). I'm wondering if maybe killing off all the good bacteria in his mouth could be one of the reasons his chompers are a mess. He also rarely finished a course of antibiotics as prescribed (stops when he feels better).

Anyone have an insight?

Thanks...

I have often wondered if there is a connection, but from me taking abtibiotics during my pregnancy. I had a course for a UTI early on and then during labor for GBS. My son has only been on a week treatment once for pnuemonia when he was a year old. His decay started pretty quickly after his teeth came in. I wonder is the problem was started in utero from abx exposure and the exacerbated by abx in labor then the course later on...

I have no clue where to start researching that...any ideas?
