I stuff mine pretty full too. My dishes/glasses are never dry either.
But when the dry cycle is going, I pop the door open, shuffle the bowls around in the bottom to drain any water out, give the silverware basket a shake, and I take my sparkling clean sponge (that I just ran through with the dishes) and mop the tops of some of the mugs and glasses. I shake out ds's plastic cups too. Then, I close the door again and let the dry cycle resume. I don't always remember to do it, but it really helps the plastic stuff dry better.
