PC or Mac?

We have a 110lb dog named Winston-he's a lab mix. We're not sure what he's mixed with since we adopted him but we just say elephant since 110 is about the slimmest he will get!

Oh and PC-dh used to work for Microsoft so he's a little bent that way. Although now we talk about getting 1 mac laptop just because I would like to give them a try.

Yes!! I would say the biggest thing was I used to be really judgemental about people who had toddlers that would run around or were really loud-in the way of "why don't you control your child?" Now that I have an energetic toddler I have a completely different understanding. Also, in general I have never been a patient person but motherhood has really helped me work on that skill!

I grew up expecting to be a mommy and though I toyed with the idea of a job, family always seemed to come first. Blame my grandparents for reminding me every day of what I wanted in life and then me finding the guy who wanted the same. LOL

You though, seem to have it all. You seem to miss that you can not work right now. Honestly if I spent years in extra school and could not use it like I expected I think I would have issues.

So I guess what I am wondering, as you live a life I only think about, what is your perfect future?

(As for me, mine is to be able to homeschool all my kids and get to go to college and be a teacher when they are grown up! LOL Maybe help homeschool my grand babies? LOL)

Just stealing the thread for a sec...

Kontessa, my mom did that. When I (the youngest) went to college, Mom went too and got her PHD (she had a masters in piano performance when she got married). She immediately got a professorship in piano at Weber State U. (at 52 years old!) and just retired from about 14 years of teaching there. I'm so proud of her!

You can do it!

Ok, back to the thread...

I definitely miss the intellectual stimulation that work can provide me-some work I should say not just any job. But at the same time, I couldn't go back full time it would be too hard especially with an infant. In my perfect world, after we are done having kids and they are school age, I would like to work again. I really worry about being too old though. If we have one more after this one, I would probably be pushing 40 when the youngest started kindergarten. And since I didn't get much experience on the job, my skill will be way outdated (biotech lab work). So if I decided to retrain in something, that would add time-especially if I needed to get a full degree all over again. I wish I had what it takes to be a teacher because science and math teachers seem to be in demand around here but I just don't think I have the right skills/personality for it. I admire you and all the other parents who homeschool-I think it takes a talent I don't have to school your children

This makes my heart smile. Thats what my perfect would be. Raise my babies and when they leave the nest to also go to college and then get a job helping teach others little ones.

I do not believe homeschooling is right for everyone, but it is so right to me and it hurts so much when some people see it as less then a paying job. No one here has ever said that, and it helps. We all have our own paths.

I go to a UU Church, over educated is what most are. LOL And they judge, and see me as less as I have no degree and yet have opinions about education and the medical world. I spend more hours then they ever did researching such things..... it effects my life. -sigh- just one of my issues I guess. LOL

Anyway..... hehehehe

Next question: When you are 100 years old, what will bring you the most joy about your life?
