Anyone with older kids home for the summer?

DAY ONE of summer and I am already SO wanting school to start again. I am not homeschooling the kids and two are in a great alternative program while the other is in special classes in middle school.

But now they're home and OH MY GOSH the noise and grumbling and typical sibling stuff is already driving me to distraction. It's only 10:30AM! I've only been up for an HOUR because I actually got to sleep in. And now?!

Usually we zip around to the library, stores, parks, etc.. during the summer. But I don't know how we'll survive the summer when I am exhausted, grumpy and chained to the bathroom and the air conditioner.

I HAVE to go to the store now and I don't want to deal with the three boys at all. And there's nothing wrong with them... it's me!!

Oh sweetie.. I'm sorry.. my oldest spends the summer with his Dad in Michigan.. Evan will have a 1/2 day daycamp plus his regular aftercare program MWF (my long work days) so my guys are pretty well busy, we also have a pool membership but it is hard for me to find the time to go and then have the weather cooperate.. a maternity bathing suit might help too!!

Does your township have any camps programs, they are usually really cheap and I have found GREAT, even just the parks program is good here?? don't know if your twp has anything like that???

many hugs!

Kick them out the front door like I do....

We have tons of neighbor kids. When my boys get on my nerves, I tell them to take it OUTSIDE.

I can't listen to them bitch and complain at each other all summer. :

(((((((HUGS))))))) Poor mama. I love you though as you know that it is you and not them. Very NVC (non-violent communitcation) hehehehehe Still, it is an issue and you should not have to suffer. I agree with other mamas, give them more out side time! Send to family if possible to trade with friends.

I homeschool my 7 year old DD and often have her schooled friends over. They make me nuts fighting, so I send them all over to another house for a while or I let them play outside! LOL And no way would I take them all shopping with me! I would find a sitter and enjoy some much needed time alone!

I feel for you, you need rest and peace and it seems like this summer you might not get enough of it. Think outside your normal box though and maybe it can be a great summer for all of you!
