I just found out last week that I'm pregnant, in a pretty dramatic way...I had had what I thought was a 2 week period starting 5/19 and the GYN did a blood panel during my annual exam (conveniently scheduled that week) to rule out miscarriage, thyroid problems and anemia...turns out my hcg was 12,600 so we did an ultrasound and there's a babe with a beautiful flickering heart in there. 
No bleeding for more than a week - that part remains a complete mystery. I know it could have been a miscarried twin or a hematoma. I have one more u/s this week to see if things are progressing, and assuming they are I will begin interviewing HB midwives in this area to start reg prenatal care. The morning sickness has been awful the past few days so I feel that the little one is definitely growing.
Oh yes, I think I about 7 wks and due at the very end of Jan/beg of Feb. We will see on Thurs as the GYN couldn't get a very good measurement last week. I don't think she's the greatest with the u/s machine...
And I am also the proud mama of a 20 mo old, Ian.
