Sex in early pregnancy

Is anyone else concerned about it? I kind of feel like I want to 'disturb' anything up there, although logically I know it won't. I'm afraid of the mucous plug getting affected (how, I don't know), my uterus contracting too much, bumping my cervix,etc. I know this is probably crazy, but I just can't shake it and I don't think my husband is appreciating it. Please tell me I'm not alone here!?!

You are definitely not alone. I have already told DH that sex is off limits until after my 1st u/s, when I am 8 weeks. I want to wait until my OB gives me the go-ahead. I just don't want to take chances, even if it is probably okay.

I think sex actually did dislodge my mucus plug a week or so ago- so no, you're not alone or insane. I don't think any of those situations you outlined above are actually a bad thing, though- mucus plugs reform. Shaken uteri stop shaking, and uterine muscles contract continually anyhow, during sex or not, during pregnancy or not. If you feel like it, get down to it. If not, don't.

We have been taking it easy with sex, nothing too rough. My DH is the one who was concerned about it, not me. He didn't even want to touch me last night, lol.

I haven't felt well enough to have sex yet since MS started. But my inclination is always wait til I hear the heartbeat, no logical reason just me being special

Whew, that makes me feel better! I try to be logical about it (I AM a doula) and be realistic, but in all honesty I just don't want to do anything to possibly compromise this pregnancy. Logical or not, it's just my feelings about it. I'm just glad I'm not the only one making her husband suffer!

This pregnancy scares me since we went through so many issues with the second one. So yeah, I'm a little freaked by sex. AND my hubby seems too traumatized to come near me! He's thrilled about this baby and this is his second baby, my third, but still he's freaked out that he may hurt the baby.

you aren't alone, sweetie I have the same feelings. We dtd last night for the first time since before we found out and I didn't really enjoy it like i oculd have because I was worried the whole time that I would start spotting or something. I just want this little one to stick around.

unless I see spotting I don't get concerned. I did have some cramping when we DTD last week but it subsided in a few minutes.

The mucous plug totally grows back.

I like sex during pregnancy... because we don't have to worry about getting pregnant! :

There is a certain amount of freedom to enjoy for 9 months!

We haven't had sex since the BFP. I think there's an unspoken agreement that we need to let things "settle in" before any activity of that sort. It's not rational, but there it is.

By 2nd trimester, I usually have an insanely crazy libido, so then we make up for the slim pickins in the 1st tri.

I think my husband is a little worried, because during my last pregnancy I had NO libido. It was very frustrating. My body just didn't need or want it. Emotionally I did, but not physically. I'm hoping it's different this time around.

I totally hear you on that, with my first baby (I got pregnant just 1 cycle after a miscarriage, and literally just one try) I had no libido to talk of and I was going through alot of flashbacks at the time of past sexual abuse, to the point that we didn't have sex again until after the baby was born. Now baby #2 was a different story, I was healthier emotionally and mentally to wear I didn't have as many mental roadblocks to intimacy. I am hoping as soon as I feel better that we will get our groove back on
