Birth Beads and Postcards?

The September ddc has exchanged birth beads and is planning to exchange postcards.

I would definitely love to exchange birth beads!!! Anyone else interested? Any ideas on how to organize it?

It sounds like everyone involved sent one bead to everyone else. They all ended up with beautiful necklaces!!

Thats so cute! I am having a blessingway in Sept and thats what my sister is doing...having all my guests bring a bead to make a bracelet or necklace....

Interesting. My last ddc exchanged candles (just sent one to one person) to light while others were in labor. I loved it and would love to do that again! The bead exchanged is a neat idea too though.

I've never heard of birth beads before-what are they? They sound neat and I'd be in!

I'd be up for any of the above!

As far as I understand it a birth bead is just a regular bead- but we all send them to each other and we each string them together and make our own necklace/bracelet/etc, whatever we end up with enough for, and the string of beads is a nice little reminder that people are thinking of us in labor and that others are going through it too.

I am in for birth beades or post cards, or both

we did birth beed exchange at my Bradely class with Theo -- and have a nice nurseing braclet from it.

Let me know HOW to work it........

I like the beads/postcards idea but I'd do candles too. I'd love it. Plus beads wouldn't cost much to mail for us cheapo mommas.
