long ctx question

Hi all,
I need some quick advice. I have a multip who has been in prodromal or early labor for 3 days now. All of a sudden she is having 3 minute long ctx with 4-6 min in between. I asked her to lay down on her left side and rest for a bit thinking it could be stress related. She's not complaining of much pain at all with these ctx- she can breathe easily through them- but she says her uterus stays hard for that long.
She's well hydrated and well nourished.

Are extra long ctx dangerous? Should I have her call her induction/vag exam-happy doc? Or just play it by ear? I've never heard of this before. Maybe "couplet" ctx brought on by stress or an OP/asyn/hand up baby?

Grrr...

ctx-contraction

Someone just pm'ed me to ask what ctx meant. I don't know if it's common or just mine, but it's my shorthand for contraction.
