SOOO I posted something a little bit ago.... I'm 4 weeks postpartum now and I was having something that looked like 2 masses inside of my vagina. I went to my midwife yesterday and she said its my muscles from my vagina and my bum...that its normal and that its not going to go away!!! It looks like I have no vagina opening! How can that be normal?!?! (She said it happens in women with more than one baby...) Is there really nothing I can do ????

It sounds like she is describing cytocele and rectocele, if you want to look up more information. If that's true, kegeling will help, but can't correct the problem. I would suggest following up with a pelvic floor specialist OB/GYN. Physical therapy and way help, too.

Make no decisions about your body at 4 weeks postpartum. You have a lot of healing to do--inside and out.
Just give your body some time. It's not "busted," it's recovering.

I saw your other post awhile back.
Now that you have described it more and had it named let me tell you not to worry. I totally looked like this for a bit after DD.
It takes time for your perineum to tighten back up and all of the vaginal tissues too.
After awhile things began looking more "normal" even though things are not the same as pre baby. I'd say it took about 9 months and lots of kegals before I felt everything looked as good as it was gonna get and more importantly felt right.
Keep in mind that after birth everything is sagging. Your muscles have been stretched and are hanging down. Kegals will help this. Also your hormones are not what they will be in a few months. You might have less blood flow than when you were pregnant. When I started cycling again (around 9 months) I think I had more blood flow and thus more plumpness all around my vulva and it helped things look better.
You are not busted! You just have had a baby and are going through the normal recovery period.

Thank you. This especially helps me feel a little better. I don't know...I didn't expect something like this to happen...I have 2 beautiful children and I thought I'd go back to how I was after the first one. Maybe I will--someday.... But, I think I've cried myself stupid for 2 days now and I've gotta be done with it.
Thanks to everyone for the support....

I have both a cystocele and a rectocele - and see them many, many times on women.
I don't think any less of my girlie bits at all!
