I thought this topic would make a good poll. So tell us about baby movements!

I started feeling it daily a few days ago, which I guess is right on schedule since this is my first. It's really weird and exciting! I realized it's not gas when I saw a pic of my intestines all squished up above my uterus, which is now taking up all the room south of my belly button.

I voted that I feel the baby at least once a day, but I usually feel the baby probably a dozen times a day now, which would really just be in the last week or so. And it's still such light movements. Sometimes, I don't feel the baby for most of the day though. And I don't really feel like it's "all the time" yet, I think that would be at least once every 10 min. on average, right? Isn't that the criteria when they get bigger and you are wondering if there is enough movement?

Thanks so much for posting that link! It was cool- seeing those organs all pushed around. It was nice to see the size of the baby in relation to everything else in there...

I voted for 'all the time' though really it's more like every few hours but definitely more than once a day.

Most of the time I think it feels so cool, but every now and then it hits 'something' that feels really weird. It almost feels like that sensation when they touch your cervix during a pap smear. yikes! It kind of startles me, but luckily it doesn't happen too often.

I really only started feeling it 'for sure' (meaning: I had run out of excuses like gas) the last three days or so.

I'm 18 weeks 6 days today and this is my first so pretty exciting stuff.

Dee,
that was a cool link. Thanks for posting it.
DD and I had fun making the baby little and BIG. She says she remembers being a tiny baby. Hee hee.
I can feel little things about once a day but not consistently yet.

I feel kicks pretty much all the time. DH can feel them sometimes. She keeps me up at night sometimes kicking...I hope I get used to it soon!

I feel flutters every once and a while

This is the most amazing part of pregnancy. I love feeling the baby kick!

I started feeling it occasionally a couple weeks ago and over the last few days it has become a daily thing. Sometimes I feel it multiple times, other days not as often. I attribute that to distraction (toddler).

This is my second so I expected to feel it even earlier. But we're right on track with when I felt DD.

Wow! I can't believe how many people are feeling the kicking! I am an end-of-Nov mama, though, so maybe it will start soon!

I started feeling movements around 14 weeks. I was really surprised because I have an anterior placenta and it is harder to feel things that way.

I know for sure that it was movement that early because I had gone in for an emergency visit and when my OB was trying to find the heartbeat, he heard the baby move away from the doppler at the same time I felt it move in the same spot. I was really surprised to realize I had been feeling it move that week!

i'm due 20 november, and this is my first, and i've been feeling movement since 14.5 weeks! (actually, i felt one isolated flutter at 13w, but didn't know if it was movement until later. i was skeptical because i didn't expect to feel anything til much, much later). it was flutters until around 16w, and now i feel kicks. i'm now 17.5weeks and i feel kicks multiple times a day, usually mostly in the morning and early afternoon, and then usually after dinner as well. i wonder when my baby sleeps; i feel like i'm gestating a little firecracker (the sense of which i had long before feeling movement, which i find really funny!).

i'm dying for my husband to be able to feel kicks! when should we able to feel these little pokes from the outside, i wonder?

I don't know why, this baby seemed mellow to me, couldn't really feel a lot of kicking. But since I've had my U/S yesterday he hasn't been still. Weird.

damn anterior placenta...feeling very little here and there...

all the time now - especially about 20 min after eating

My dh was able to feel one of the babies kicks for the first time today actually! What a great Father's Day gift!

Yep. 18 wks here, definitely not constant movement yet, but a few times a day most days. Usually right after I eat. Or um...drink a Dr. Pepper. That really got the little bugger going! I guess it was the sugar, since baby doesn't react the same way to my morning cup of coffee which has more caffiene. I've definitely felt him/her bump my cervix too. I do not enjoy that feeling one bit. I don't remember it happening this early before, but then again, it's been 6 years!

Still can't feel movement from the outside though, I'm guessing because I'm rather on the fluffy side. Poor dh, he's eagerly waiting!
