Anyone else dizzy?

I don't know how normal this is. I'm seeing my midwife tomorrow but was wondering if any of you are experiencing dizzy spells?
There's no pattern with mine and I've gone a week without one, but sometimes out of the blue I just feel so dizzy, like I'm going to pass out and at times (like today) like I'm also going to vomit.
Anyone else, or am I the only lucky one?

I'm in the December DDC, but I experience the same thing. I had constant dizzyness/lightheadedness up until about 10 weeks or so. It has gradually gotten better, but now it just comes in spells. My midwife thinks it's hormonal. I know it sucks.

I have it, too. I never had with my first, so it freaks me out. Two days ago I fainted in the morning in the kitchen. I noticed if I don't eat, drink and sleep enough it gets worse, much worse if I am dehydrated. I have to sit a lot or move around, if I just stand it gets really bad, too.
So i am not sure what is going on, but everything I read said it could be a drop in blood pressure because of the increased blood volume.
Hope it won't last long.....

I get those darn dizzy spells too! : I was at the grocery store today and had to quickly open up a box of crackers because I felt so dizzy and lightheaded I thought I might faint. I decided that eating crackers was less embarassing than passing out or having to sit in the middle of the isle. Funny thing is my hubby thought it was more embarassing that I was eating crackers we had not yet paid for. I had this with my last pregnancy as well and my perinatologist told me that it was normal and not to worry. I do not like it one bit though and am always afraid of passing out. I don't have any tips but I can sympathize with you. I hope you start to feel better and the symptoms subside quickly for you!

ME! Midwife thinks it is because I am not getting enough protien. I know it happens on days I have not eaten enough, thats for sure..... Not fun!

Me too! But I usually get it if I am too hot, hungry or thirsty. its my signal to slow down and take care of myself! LOL

: I nearly toppled over after getting out of bed the other morning -- had to brace myself against the wall and everything. Luckily, I had an apt. with my midwife that day and was able to ask her about it. She said that blood pressure usually bottoms out about this time in the pregnancy, and sure enough when she checked, my bp was unusually low (it's usually a little on the high side).

I don't think the dizziness is supposed to last the entire pregnancy ( i hope!)

Be careful with yourself!

Happens to me all the time, but I've never actually passed out. I just grab onto something until the blackness fades and the world comes back to me. This happened to me even non-pregnant, but definitely more so now. Usually happens at least once a day, sometimes more, and usually when I get up too quickly/move too fast. Oh, and I've always had very low blood pressure, so maybe there's something to that.

yeah, I get that way also, prety frequently, almost daily or on a bad day, multiple times daily (esp in morning) I had it with all my pgcys but the worst with this one.. The things I have found helpful: an electrolyte supplement from E-lyte (it has NO sweetener or anything in it but electrolytes), lots of water, liquid organic iron supplement Floradix, and intramuscular B12 (I am out and notice a big difference for the worse..), also never let my blood sugar drop so frequent high protein/fat mini snacks are in order.. even with all this i still get it to some degree but not bad like w/o the above program.. hope you feel better.. OH also I sit or lie down immediately upon feeling the start of it (no matter where I am, it may look stupid but not as bad as passing out or vomiting in public..)

In addition to what everyone else said, I'll just offer the suggestion to check your pants to see if they are too tight. I had a sudden dizzy feeling and wave of nausea last weekend when I tried to get one more wear out of a (larger sized) "normal" pair of pants. Once I unbuttoned them, I felt instantly better.

YES. My OB said to expect it to only get worse, especially in the hot weather. Just drink as much as you can and don't get too hungry. It's totally normal.

Thanks for all the replies. Good to know I'm not alone. I had a mw appt today and she said I have low blood pressure to start with so it might be that. Also she told me to drink more fluids and to eat at least every 2 hours. I don't know how I'm going to eat any more than I already do, but it's always nice to have permission.

I've gotten those spells several times and it'll last a few hours for me. I just try to lay down so I don't get hurt. I also have very low blood pressure (95/50), so I am sure that's a factor for me. Hope it stops for you!

I get them too. Eating a lot of protein throughout the day (even in the morning) really helps.
