Tell me about your multiple birthday party(ies) - Page 2

a few weeks ago, i sent emails to all who were invited about what is and isn't appropriate (in our house) as far as gifts go~no plastic please, no barbies, no war toys. we prefer wood and/or open ended toys. i gave them links for magic cabin, steiner books and a few others.
Good luck with this. I told immediate family this ages ago, wrote about it, talk about it and my MIL still stocked up on plastic toys at her house and bought them a giant plastic radio flyer wagon. She remains miffed at me that I wouldn't let her haul the wagon to my house but (gently) suggested that that should stay a special toy at Grandma's, and, though it was nice, please no plastic in the future. A neighbor gave the kids plastic toys (she didn't know my preferences) and my mother promptly took them out of the box so now I can't return them. Be prepared to have to spirit toys away during the night to the great Bratz Black Hole, into which certain toys are sucked never to be seen again.

My twinnines will be 1 in just 2 short months. I rented a pavilion at the beach. Between family and close friends, I'm expecting about 50 guests. We will have BBQ, there is a great playground right next to the pavilion (for young and older kids), and ofcourse the beach itself. I will probably buy just one main cake and just get 2 "smush" cakes - its a little personal cake for the baby, so I'll just get 2 of those.

As long as DC dont mind, I will keep having 1 party for both. Once they decide that they want separate parties, I'll do that. Also, once they are old enough to understand and actually enjoy their party, I will probably have a separate party for them with their friends and a separate one with family.
