Feel sick tonight...

Ugh, for some reason, over the past week or so, I've had some nausea again (I haven't really had too much m/s since 14 weeks or so, am now 18.5w). I ran out of probiotics 2 weeks ago and the HFS was out of my brand when I went last week to get some. Again, this week they were out, but I just bought a different brand. I don't think it's helping as much as my regular brand though. And I think that my body definitely needs the probiotics to aid in digestion or the acid reflux gets worse and overall nausea/morning sickness gets worse. I haven't been too sick though, just back to not eating many veggies/fruits because nothing sounds good and anything even slightly acidic (most fruits/veggies) aren't settling well, thanks to the increase in acid reflux.

But tonight, I was invited to a BBQ. I decided to go. And I decided to be brave and eat some BBQ chicken (legs, they only had legs and wings). It was quite tasty and I had a second one. Ugh, I just want to throw up now. Seriously, I wish I could. I actually tried to throw up earlier. This is exactly how I felt when I had the shrimp back when I was 10 or 11 weeks (do you all remember that post?). I know that night, I felt nauseous for a few hours and then all of a sudden I threw up and still felt crappy the rest of the night and for several days. We'll see what happens this time. I really should have known better. I diced and cooked some chicken a few days ago and mixed it with brown rice and veggies. It was good, but my stomach was a bit upset afterwards. I just don't think my stomach is handling digesting protein very well. It's harder to digest and I don't think I can do it. That's why I've had such a strong aversion to protein (but especially meat). Anyway, now I know, and I'll just stay vegetarian until this baby is born. Obviously that's the only thing I can do.

Okay, so I really just wanted to whine. I hate having nausea again after almost a month of no throwing up. Ugh. I hope it goes away soon.

Talk to your MW about the meat thing too and see if she knows why. And I would check out vegetarian protein sources so you can get the recommended amounts of protein in. Good luck!

I am having a bad night after a not-so-great week and I am SO whiny about it. I was crying earlier to hubby. *sigh*

I SO know how you feel. I started to feel better at around 15 weeks this time like the other pregnancies.. but then it got worse agian and it doesn't seem to be going anywhere I'm sick everyday and still throwing up some. It's SO frustrating.

Thanks for the sympathy. I felt completely better by 10 weeks with my girls. I'm convinced this one is a boy since I had nothing like this the other two times. I will talk to my mw about the meat thing too. I told the mw at my last appt that I had an aversion to meat and she said that was fine as long as I was eating eggs/peanut butter and other sources of protein. I also eat lots of whole grains which all have protein, but I know I'm not anywhere near the recommended 80g of protein. And it really doesn't make sense that chicken would make me feel so sick.

I wonder if you're over-sensitive to the hormones in the meat? Wonder if you had some hormone-free if it would be the same. I don't know if you even feel up to trying though!

Hmmm...that's a possibility Gina. But, honestly, I don't really feel like trying it. Oh, and the chicken I used a few night before wasn't organic but it was antibiotic/hormone free. So, not sure how much difference organic chicken or any meat for that matter would make. I'll have to ask the mw about it at my next appt.

you poor thing.. I certainly would not force myself to eat what makes you sick.. that's not good, I guess just try to find things that go down and stay down.. sounds like a plan, hope you feel better soon

Definitely feeling better today, but I'm staying away from meat completely for now. I was trying to branch out, yk, be brave and try some things that I hadn't eaten for awhile. Backfired on me. I can normally eat anything by this point in my pregnancy, but I've had terrible food issues this time. Oh well. Only 5 more months of eating the same boring stuff every day. I can do it!
