And you thought you were surprised?!

A mom in the December DDC thought she was something like 14 weeks pregnant and at her u/s this week found out she is 30 weeks! : Her due date went from 12/12 to 8/22!!!

I will never be surprised again.

Wow! That's a big difference!!! How exciting to skip that much of your pregnancy!
whoa, wait, how did that happen?? did she have some kind of spotting throughout the first sixteen weeks that made her think she was having a period? or was she nursing or something and thus didn't have a period to go by?

that's kind of cool, but also kind of a bummer. cool because you get to skip over all the first trimester worrying and waiting, said because you don't get to savor the whole pregnancy.

wowwwwwwww.. amazing.. I never thought things like not knowing you were PG were possible until a very good friend (and patient) of mine did not find out she was PG until she was about 6 MONTHS pg.. I saw and treated her thru this. she is a professional eventer/ open jumper and rode competitively the whole time until she found out!!. the "funny" thing is she was being treated aggressively by three different GYN's for cervical dysplasia and genital warts (including a cone biopsy) plus ummmm "irregular" periods! and shots of DEPO alll while PG and not ONE GYN "noticed" she was PG.. amazing.. thankfully, she had a very healthy baby boy a few months later who is now almost two.. can you imagine?

How on earth could you not realize that you were 30 weeks pregnant?? That's not a little off, that's 16 weeks - 4 months is a long time! I can't imagine not knowing that something was different (wouldn't she have felt her baby moving by then??)

well-if you are overweight, of have an anterior placenta you could easily not feel a baby moving. I had a hard time feeling Isabella move sometimes right up until the end. Mostly it was smaller bumps etc-it could easily be dismissed as gas.

As for periods, I have PCOS and don't have them-so not having one is not an indication for me!

whoa! that's nuts! goodness - poor thing must be in a mad rush now to get things done...

oh wow!! why couldn't that be me? LOL

on feeling the baby move.. I had an anterior placenta with my last daughter and rarely felt movement.. even at the end!

Wow, that kind of puts the whole "finding out if it's a boy or girl" thing in perspective! I can't imagine what must be going through her mind!

Oh my word! That's kinda scary! Wow.

You know, I might happily skip a few months in there too. I'm sorry, but my pregnancies just suck.

Oh, and my best friend's mother found out she was pregnant with her youngest when she was a full 4 months pregnant. Her husband had had a vasectomey (obviously botched!) a few years before and she continued getting her period (I guess she just always spots) every month while pregnant with each child (plus 3 miscarriages) so she only found out at a routine gyn appt. Freaky!

My friend told me that his cousin didn't know she was pregnant until she went into labor. She had been having some "back pain" and asked her boyfriend to walk on her back for her. :

She was very young, like those teenagers who are PG and no one knows about it. But seriously, how can you not know when everything in your body is changing?!

Sorry, I don't buy the stories where they have babies w/o even knowing they were preggers. Urban legends to me, not any different from the alligator in the sewer.

Wow that's quite a surprise. I'm not sure if I'd be happy or sad. I have great pregnancies but they sure do seem to take awhile.

This pregnancy seems to be flying by and I'm worried about not getting my "to do list" completed before this baby's arrival. I can only imagine how she is feeling at this point.

Wow.

She must have been having periods and NO morning sickness, right?!

not necessarily. there are women that don't have periods and still get pregnant. I haven't had one in a very long time and I still conceived.

as for the morning sickness, probably-there are lots of women that never get it!

Yeah, how could you NOT notice the very hard round thing inside of your lower belly at some point? I don't care how much 'fluff' you have on top of it, uteruses do contract and get firm now and then and I can't imagine not noticing at all. Inconcievable to me.

I wasn't having periods but didn't have ms with my first.

I was 17 with my first and didn't know anything about pregnancy and just didnt think about not having my period although I wasn't having it. I don't know why I finally got tested and learned I was 20 weeks pregnant.

I did not feel any kicks until a few weeks after getting a + with a pregnancy test. So, believe it or not, and I wasn't big then, I was a size 8.
