C section scar pain

Anyone else having this? I stood up too fast today and my scar HURT. Stabbing pain for an instant, and then tender. I remember the NP telling me at the first visit or around there that the scar would hurt sometimes, but it always scares the heck out of me.

The OB has told me several times that it WON"T come open. But I am so scared that it will.

I'm this scared, but hoping for a VBAC. Why do they tell you the scar "could" come open during labor, but it couldn't come open during pregnancy? I don't get it.

I have been having lots of round ligament pain, too. Anyone else?

I had some pain at the beginning of my pregnancy along my scar, but nothing now. It really was probably round ligament pain, though, since it happened when you stood up quickly--I get those pains all along my sides and lower belly every time I stand up really fast. I wouldn't freak out too much, but keep in mind that your OB has a nurse who gets pain to take phone calls, so do not hesitate if you feel nervous.

Hi, not in your ddc but I lurk a little, as I'm right on the edge. I've had some soreness in my c/s scar as my uterus has gotten bigger and heard from several people in my ddc that it is common. You can actually have adhesions after after any surgery, so it may just be that your feeling them come apart, which is fine(since it's tissue that shouldn't be fused anyway.)

I was going to say it was probably adhesions tearing loose. I had much more c/s scar pain with my 2nd pg (1st was the c/s) and vbac than I have had with the last 2 vbacs.

Good Luck with your Vbac and pregnancy!

I haven't had a c-section, but I had my gall bladder removed 6 weeks post-partum. The incision above my belly button has been sore and tender lately as the uterus heads into that area. I'm going to mention it to my MW at my next appt, but I'm assuming, like PPs said, it's little adhesions and no big deal!

I had pain in my scar for YEARS and I don't remember if I did during the second pregnancy, but no doubt. Luckily I am nearing 12 years post c-section with all VBACs and I have no pain now. You'll get there too. You'll also get your VBAC and don't worry about splitting! You won't!

I had an appendectomy a few months before I got pregnant with my first. I had pain and lots of itching where those scars are during my first pregnancy. Don't remember if I had any pain there with my second, but nothing ever since then. No pain this time. It's been 5 years since that surgery. It's pretty common to have pain along a surgery line for a few years afterwards, especially during a pregnancy. Hopefully it will be better during your next pregnancy since you're having a VBAC this time.

I have sent quite a few of my patients for reiki for post surgical scar pn (with or w/o being pg) and it has been wildly succesful.. hopefully that is helpful for some.. also for surface scars I love the PAlmers stretch mark stuff (I have a big scar sort of under my right boob and it hurts/ itches when I am pg and I get big on top, the palmers helps a lot as well as Traumeel arnica cream made by Heel) just trying to help! hope everyone feels better soon

I'm so glad that you posted this since I have been having the same thing.

I talked to my doctor about it, and he assured me that while it probably was "something," I am thinking he meant adhesions, that it was not my uterus, or I would be in severe pain. That helped. He said he did have one patient who ruptured, and he could hear her screaming in the background while he talked to her husband. That still kind of scared me (you mean it COULD happen???), but it also helped reassure me. I thought about it later, and she could have ruptured during labor or something. He said a rupture would feel awful like appendicitis. I would be doubled over.

I DID double over, but as soon as I was lying down, I was fine.

I guess it's just normal stretching, moving around in there. I am sure I had adhesions that came loose because now the skin feels "looser". It hurt like H*** but quickly went away. I was tender yesterday but not in pain.
