ISO exchange?

Ok, so in my night wandering I had an idea - would anyone be interested in doing another exchange for things that you have too many of that someone else might need?

I can think of several things I have wayyy too many of, and somethings that I need, but would be completely happy with gently used, etc...

Not sure how it would work - but I'd be fine with waving how much something is worth esp if someone else can use it and I'd be getting something else I really need.

I tend to be a pack rat, and really need to get things under control a bit.

Sounds interesting. Maybe I should start a yahoo group for us. I think that would fall under swaps here on MDC and there are so many rules around that (# of posts, membership time, who can run one, etc.) I know I have wayyyyy.... too many newborn diaper covers. I'll mostly be using AIO's, so I don't need 10 covers for the 6 fitteds I have (not really sure of the exact #'s, but I know I have more covers than fitteds, ). I'm sure I have other stuff that I could part with too.

I would love to do this but I cant think of anything I have too much of....I do have a TON of boy stuff and a lot of boys on the way here. I got rid of most stuff after QUinn since we thought dh was getting the big "V'....I guess I can gauge how much boy stuff I can get rid of after my u/s tomorrow!

This would be great! It might be nice to wait a little longer though, at least for me, because I haven't brought anything up from the basement yet so I have no idea what I have! I think I have about a million receiving blankets. I might have a surplus of medium FBs, too.

I have a carseat w a base I don't need, but that would be kinda pricy to ship.
I am ISO of covers, boyish outfits...
A yahoo group would be an idea or make this a sticky, which would probably be easier.

I might be into it but all my stuff is still packed away and we are moving next weekend. So depending on timing and what I have...

where do you live? I have tons of boyish stuff, but mostly summer/fallish - good for anywhere BUT where I live!

I think we should probably wait until September to do this. Nobody should have their babies home before the beginning of October at the earliest (any preemies will probably be in NICU for awhile). I know I won't be dragging any of my stuff out until then, so I won't be ready for a swap until later. If we are having a boy, I could probably part with some of our girl stuff (still not sure if we are finding out the gender, though.) I will be gone on vacation for all of July and part of August. I could set up a yahoo group when I get back and people could start organizing swaps among themselves. What do you all think? I'd rather keep it informal, we can use the databases to post our ISO and also what we have extra of and can part with. It would be a lot of fun!

I'd love to be in on this. And if anyone wants boys stuff before then, let me know. I cleaned out ours and am going to try to ebay some, but have a TON. By two little guys were born opposite seasons, so I have tons between them and it's filling up my hallway right now

Great idea. I am waiting until the middle of July before I take down all of our baby stuff from the attic. I would love to trade away all of our boy stuff if the sono shows 100% girl. I am sure that I have a bunch of other extra's.

well that swap's not going to work!! Your babe might be a bit cold in my summer drags come November!!

I'm just south of Boston. But, that said, I spend most of my summer Thur -Mon in Meredith NH, my folks have a place up there.

Waiting sounds great...I def would like to get moving by mid Sept to make sure it gets to where it needs to go (and Im not super huge in the post office either!!)

September sounds great- I'm going to the beach for the week before Labor Day and am hoping to control myself and hold off on bringing up the bins until after that trip. Thanks for offering to organize! Yahoo sounds perfect.
Just remind me ya'll! I'll set it up mid-August, shortly after I get back from my lengthy vacation. That should give everyone plenty of time to organize swaps and send stuff off and still get it there before October.

Unless we want to do the bead swap sooner, if so, I can set up the yahoo group sooner for that, but I know I won't be wanting to do any swapping any sooner than mid-end of August.

Sounds good to me too. I know that I have a box of baby stuff in the porch, which includes some wool covers that I never got the hang of, and DH will be delighted if I am getting rid of baby stuff BEFORE the new baby arrives (he will probably take that as a sign that this one is the last one - I'm still debating).

I would love this, soon! LOL I adore mail and baby stuff is helping me to focus! I have lots of almost new baby boy cloths and I am sure now too many NB diapers too. We could have that yahoo group and just make data base of things people have extra of and their ISO list and go from there? LOL

Heck, trading some pregny books and such might be nice too!

This sounds great to me and I can't wait! I think that September would be the perfect time do the swap.
