Anyone else past their due date?

I'm now 40w4d and so suprised to be here. I'm sure you've all seen me whine about this, but DD1 came at 38 weeks and DD2 came at 37 weeks (yes, a full 21 days early!!) so this is all new territory for me. Am I the only one? Are you doing anything to encourage baby? I've been walking tons and was considering EPO but midwife said since I was 2-3cm and 75% effaced (I caved and got checked on my due date) that EPO wouldn't do any good. I'm really scared of having to go to the hospital ER to get induced by some random OB. Baby is posterior and despite my best efforts isn't turning and I'm scared that labor won't start until she turns. Please turn around and come out before 42w baby (today would be nice ). Anyone else past their due date?

Well, techinically, no, I'm not overdue....

Not postdates away (more than two weeks past due date)

But, I AM 40 weeks and five days. And I'm DYING here. I have my non stress test on Tuesday...and I'm going to ask my midwife to try to strip my membrames again (I chickened out at my last appointment) since I'll be a solid 41 weeks then.

Dang it. I really wanted to have a baby on the outside by now.

I'm SO SO SO sick of being pregnant. It hurts to roll over in bed...I'm uncomfortable ALL the time. And if one more person tells me that it will be any day or asks me how I'm feeling or why the "dr." hasn't induced...I swear I'm going to SCREAM.

Today I am either 41w or 41w3d, depending on which date you're using.

It's 93 degrees here.

I hope he comes out sometime soon . . . I've tried EPO, sex, walking, spicy food, can't do pineapple 'cause I'm allergic to it . . . Tuesday I'll probably try castor oil if I'm still pg.

If I'm still pg on Thursday, I'll have my MW strip my membranes. If THAT doesn't work, I'll have to go the following Monday and have her try AROM as a last resort, since if that doesn't work, I'll be WAY out of fudge dates, and to a point where even *I* feel medical induction may be best (I'd be about 42w4d then.)

Let's hope it doesn't come to that.

I'm not quite overdue either, but tomorrow is my due date so I feel almost overdue. At my last MW visit (I caved & asked her to check me), I was 75% effaced & just barely 1cm dialated. I've had some pretty serious cramping since then, so what am I 100% effaced now? Is that possible? I hope my cervix has done something in a week. The MW I'm seeing tomorrow isn't into doing internals but I'll see if she'll check me anyway. I need to know that I've made some progress. I hope my prenatal massage from yesterday helped moved things along. I have really hit a low point today.

momtokay- Can you get a massage or acupuncture? How about membrane stripping? I won't do the latter until I am at least over 41 weeks.

Hang in there. Baby could arrive anyday, right? At least that's what I keep telling myself.

I am 40wks 5 days. I sway from enjoying this last time before we have a little one in our life and being totally miserable and going crazy wanting to meet our son! People are pretty much driving me crazy calling and asking if we have had the baby yet. I just don't answer my phone. : I also really want to avoid induction at the hospital. I need to walk more, it is just so hot here. I have been swimming everyday though. This is my first time having a baby, so basically every weird feeling I feel, I ask myself, "Oh, is this what a contraction feels like?" AHHH!

I am 41w 6d today... I told the baby that coming today would be a great gift for his/her Daddy (and me ). I have had 2 NST and the MW tried to strip my membranes last Thursday, but she said my cervix was still really thick. I go back for another NST tomorrow and a MW appt. afterwards. I really didn't want it to come to this, but I think I may ask her to go ahead and AROM. This is baby #6, you would think that my body would be use to all this! I trust my body, but still wonder why every one of my babies has either had AROM, stripped membranes or cervadil/pit inductions? So frustrating!

40w 1d here, and I feel done. I'm ready to meet this babe and stop being so uncomfortable. I've been crampy all day in my right hip, not sure if that means anything, but praying it does! DS was three days early, so I wasnt really actually expecting to go past the due date even though I tried not to get my hopes up....I'm tired of all the "any day now" and "wont your doc induce??" comments too!! I've decided I dont want to go anywhere I actually know people until after the baby comes!

Well, just another hour, and I'm going to be 40 weeks and six days!! AGGH. This is getting ridiculous.

I'll be 42w on Wednesday. Been having p-labor for a week now, no babe yet.

Tried sex, walking, bumpy roads, spicy food, swinging from monkey bars! ... NOTHING. I'm in agony.


Not to mention, my stomach is so immensely huge, my stretch marks are splitting wide open and bleeding at this point. Babe is totally low, locked and loaded ready, and dropped WAY down two days ago... but she's still hyperactive in there instead of just chillin out. Gahhh.. I swear I'm going to be pregnant for the rest of my life...

I'm 40 weeks and 6 days. We really thought I would have it yesterday. I'm not sure how much more diarrhea (tmi-sorry) I can handle. I played a guilt trip on a friend who is also a massage therapist and she agreed to give me a free massage so I will probably schedule that for this week. I'm going to call some chiro's and acupuncturist's today and tomorrow. Surely if I make an appointment with someone the baby will be born so I'll miss the appointment.

Accupressure points for labor

I'm 40 and 4 today. Excited to meet this little one. This is my first baby, so I really don't know what to expect from my body. I've been having some GI stuff and this wierd shakey feeling that comes and goes. Anyone else having shakey stuff? It almost feels like when you drink way too much coffee.

Seeing my MW tomorrow and she's going to strip my membranes. Only 7 weeks left of my maternity leave!! I'd really like to have as much time as possible with the baby, before leaving it at childcare to re-enter my hectic work life.

I've been doing evening primrose oil, lots of lovin from my DH, spicy foods, walking . . . . a storm's heading this way, may be that'll help.

For all you past-due mamas out there, here are the accupressure points to stimulate labor:

1. Midway along the top of the trapezius muscles, if you were to draw a line from the acromion to C-7.
2. The motion sickness point at the angle between the first and second metacarpals.
3. In the semicircle around the distal medial and lateral malleoli.
4. The little toe, all over.

Trust your kinesthetic sense, but I'd encourage you have someone else work those points for at least 2-3 minutes each. They are also supposed to work for labor pains, if you feel inclined, as will others (you can google them!)

i am the weird one that's ok being still pregnant lol. i'm 40.4 , and perfectly fine. ds was born 42.6 so i guess i really am into the idea that 40 weeks is just the middle point between 38 and 43 weeks...that really brings perspective

I've discovered that the secret to remaining sane is by sleeping as much as possible or by keeping busy, nothing in between seems to work.

had my 41 week appt this afternoon. baby passed the nst. she's really, really, really low. lower than 0 station apparently, but still turning her head enough that the midwife couldn't say what position she was in (anterior one minute, posterior the next, ugh!). 3-4cm dilated now. still about 75% effaced. have a biophysical profile scheduled for friday, but i really hope to be holding a baby by then instead. hope everyone else is hanging in there.

I'm 41 weeks 2 days......

My midwife has been doing the S&S every 2 days for the past week...I've had 2 c/s, so if I don't go into labour by friday morning we have a repeat c/s booked- so we're at crunch time- I'm planning a home birth with our midwives but we've been consulting with an OB (hence the booked c/s at 41 weeks6days)- I've been having prodromal labour for 3 weeks and doing the major "false" labour for 5 days!!! I'm pretty much at the end of my rope. but I finally let the ob talk me in todoing the biophysical profile U/S ....and I didn't realize how worried I was until the u/s tech told me how wonderful our son is doing....WHEEEeeewwwww!!

Lets see, we've tried:

-sex
-EPO
-homeopathics- just started today
-walking
-hot thai green curry (several times!!)
-accupressure points
-......I haven't tried the pineapple though......hmmmm might have to send DH to the store tomorrow!LOL!!

by the time i hit 'submit' i will officially be past my due date :

im not shocked, by any means~ i was induced (oce by AROM and once with, among 6-8 other things, pitocin) at 42 weeks with my other 2. i've *accepted* that im a 42-3 week gestater, but that does NOT mean im happy about it! plan to continue doing everything i can to get him out!

going to start calling accupuncturists tomorrow. theres not much else i can do that im not doing...BLAH!

as for me, i'm 41 weeks and finally showing signs that i'm in labor or am at least about to be. please let this be it!!!
