This summer I am trying to do some arts and crafts projects at home. I have found some great make at home recipes for all kinds of interesting paints, doughs, etc. One of the ingredients that they call for is soap flakes. I remember my mom always having a box of ivory soap flakes in our house. However I have been to three different stores (I live in a big city) and NONE of them had soap flakes. I was shocked. Does anyone know where I can get them or if there is a good alternative?
Some of the recipes also call for "dry starch". I really don't iron and I have never used starch. Can someone tell me the difference between dry starch and liquid starch? Where would I find these items? So far I have only found spray starch at the stores.
I would appreciate any thoughts you have.
