Oh OWWWWWWW!

DD and I have had a wonderful 2+ year nursing relationship, and she is still very attached and dependant on her milkies. Lately, right before AF, my breasts were very sore, for about 10 days prior. But when AF came, it would get better. Well, now I am pregnant! Yeah! BUT wow, they hurt. Alot. I really have been trying to limit her nursing, because it hurts so much. I do not want to wean her, she is not ready. So how long does this soreness typically last? Please dont tell me it lasts the whole time!

Breast tenderness is usually pretty typical in the first 2-3 months of pregnancy. But for some women, you are right, it lasts the whole pregnancy.

I'd say give it until that 12-week mark to make any decisions.

in my case it comes and goes...some weeks are fine and others I can barely stand it for more than a few minutes. Generally my son (who just turned two and I am due in two weeks) is pretty understanding about stopping when I tell him it's not comfortable.

We only nurse to sleep at night, first thing in the morning, to fall asleep at nap time and on rare occasions like if he hurt himself or doesn't feel good.

I'm having a hard time believing that it will stop hurting (in a bad week right now, ouch!) as soon as the baby is born, but so far most people have said the feeling changes after, so I'm kinda holding out for that.

just wanted to share my experience hope things go well for you, good luck

and congratulations!
