Homeschooling with a new baby? - Page 2

I have a 10 yo and a 5 week old. I tried to shift to more independant work during pregnancy- had to I was so tired. I bought some curric pieces that are more or less self taught, and each day we talk about goals. she spends a lot of time reading her own interests and doing art work, when not playing w/ friends. I got noeo science and artistic pursuits- 2 pieces she seems to enjoy and learn from w/out stress and fuss. The tough part for me will be when classes start. she's taking a quilting/history class and we may rejoin our co-op. I don't want to drag baby around too much, but I'm sure we'll find our groove

This really makes me smile. I can remember being so stressed when I first homeschooled a 2nd grader with a toddler in the house. Then had a long best rest pregnancy, while homeschooling 2nd grader and toddler. Then homeschooled 3rd grader, three year old and baby. Then 5th grader, 2nd grader, with toddler. We usually homeschool year round so we can just go with the flow. If we need to not do things for a day, a week, or a month, well, so it goes. We put the "r" in "relaxed."

My kids are now 13, 10, and 7 and that irksome third baby is the first of my kids to not be on grade level while the others have learned to be very independent learners. I have definitely been convinced that everybody always ends up where they are supposed to be.
