My ds (8 mos) bit me so hard last week that he drew blood. I have been incredibly sore since then and I do not appear to be healing at all- infact, I am afraid it may be getting a little oozy (sorry to be gross!). DH keeps insisting I call the doc, but it seems like something should help it heal on its own. I actually put neosporin on it tonight since its looking kind of bad. I am still nursing on the wounded side, but do you think if its infected that could harm ds in any way?

It shouldn't hurt him, but it could become very serious for you.
Sometimes it is hard for those kinds of wounds to heal because they are under the skin and always irritated and wet. I would go to the doc and get antibiotics. You can take them while nursing and youwon't have to worry about an absess or serious infectoins, etc. Just watch for thrush and yeast issues afterward!!

It would be a great idea to have your doc look at it.
In the mean time, I would use neosporin + pain relief. Just wipe it off as well as you can before you nurse.

Thanks for your advice Mammas!
The bite and the pain are much improved with just one day of neosporin and saline soaks (as www.kellymom.com suggests for injuries). Hope I don't have to deal with that again!! We can live with nips- but not chomps!
