How ya feelin sweetie? I hope everything is ok with you I've been thinking about you all day, keep us posted mama.

Hey! Just trying to relax. No changes either way (the cramping and cxs aren't decreasing or increasing), so I don't think it's doing much! I'm mostly just trying to process some thoughts, mostly about my own "take charge, be in control" type personality and I'm trying to just give myself permission to let go and let this baby do what he or she wants. Even though I don't really want to do this yet (and I may not have to!), this baby may be ready before I am.

Or, this could be prodromal labor, and I will slowly go crazy these next few weeks! (laugh now, right?) We'll see what happens, I guess! I feel a little silly, and yet... pinkish-brownish tinged mucous plug is probably something to give some serious thought to. I think I'll just call and bounce this off of the midwives tomorrow. John was incensed that I didn't call them today, but I guess I just kind of feel like, eh- what are they going to do about it? Apply super glue?

I totally understand!

I lost my plug with Aidan (he was the only one) and honestly it didn't mean labor was imminent. My grandma tried to tell me that but I was still pregnant over a week later.


I hope you find the inner peace and calm you are searching for right now. Take it easy.

Wait, Clara, aren't you my DDC buddy?? I feel like I'm being pulled in so many directions right now that I can't keep up with what's going on.

You lost part of your plug? Why did I not see this? I thought someone else on the board lost some of theirs too but hasn't gone into labor yet...?

Hang in there. It's good your DH was pissed at you for not calling the midwives. Sounds like he cares.

I never lost mine with dd, but lost it the morning I had ds. Good luck!
BTW, I had dd at 35 wks, and she was completely fine. Came home with me in two days. She had some temp. regulation problems, a little jaundice (so are alot of babies!) and was very sleepy. That's the only thing I didn't like about a preemie baby... she was so sleepy, I was afraid she wasn't eating enough. We were waking her up every 2 hrs., by undressing her, flicking her feet, anything to get her to eat. The pediatrician gave me the best advice. He said, "Stop waking that baby up. Let her sleep as much as she wants and then nurse her whenever she wakes up as much as she wants. Just don't let her go over 5-6 hours sleeping more than once a day." Well, once I stopped waking her up every 2 hrs., she actually woke up on her own every four hrs., like freakin' clock-work. seriously, you could set your watch by her. She'd completely drain one breast, completely drain the other, and then fall asleep for 4 hrs. again.

I'm having a hard time keeping up too. I don't know if you're thinking of me- I lost a chunk of plug less than a week ago, and have been steadily losing pieces of it over the past few days. I even chased DH around the house with a piece, saying, "LOOK! MUCOUS!!!"

Clara, I've been thinking about you! I've been reading about the plug all over the place, and I've heard that it can be anywhere from a few hours to a few WEEKS after you lose your plug before you give birth. That really narrows it down, right?

Bumble Bena- Yes! That's what I keep trying to tell DH. I keep reminding him about his coworker's wife- I say, "Remember when C.'s wife lost her entire plug, not just a good sized bit of it, and she didn't go into labor for weeks?!?"

Panthira- Don't worry! I won't forget that you're my DDC buddy! I'll let you know, and keep you updated. I just didn't think it was too much to be concerned over.

Aileen- Thanks! I still think this bambino or bambina is going to stay put for a little while at least (wishful thinking?) but this definately seems to be the type of thing where this baby's best birth is going to involve some crampy and contraction-y days.

Well... I don't want to jinx anything, but at my MW appointment today, she could barely feel the baby's head- and she couldn't wiggle the part she could feel. The babe is firmly lodged in there. Also I had a mega-hard, mega-long contraction at the appointment that surprised the MW (and me- without realizing it, tears were pouring out of my eyes! Totally weird, as I was just talking and laughing before.) We're home now, but cxns are about 10-20 mins apart. The drive home was pretty hard- I had at least two more cxns similar to what was in the office, and then some smaller ones.

So, I'm hanging out, seeing what's happening. This is pretty sore, so I hope something happens. I'm going to rest for now. Don't worry, I'll post if we decide to leave!
