Help with my Singer 9030

I just recently purchased a Singer 9030 for $13. Great deal right. Well it seems to work fine but there is no manual and I am dumbfounded at why my thread is knotting on one side of the fabric.
Can anyone help me figure this one out? I have another Singer that is much newer and I tried to use that manual but the 9030 has more features and it just didn't help any.

It sounds like a tension problem. Which side is knotting? If its the needle thread knotting on the underside tighten the needle thread tension, there should be a dial.

I second the tension, here's a downloadable copy of the manual

oh it looks like you need to put in the model number.

Thank you for the link made my eyes go wacky for a second watching the pages go by while I looked for the right one. The thread is "knotting on the underside by the plate. Any ideas which part of this manual to look in because my other manual actually says "trouble shooting" this way

Thank you in advance for any and all help. I am trying to make some teddy bears out of old t-shirts and since they are for kids I want them to be right.

Again thanks.
