Anyone had a c-section because of uterine fibroids?

My partner probably has to have a c-section because of a fibroid that looks like it's stopping the baby's head from engaging? Anyone had the same thing? Any possibility that she could have a vaginal birth?

I know a woman who was dx'ed in preg as having a hernia. The dr told her to eat lots of roughage and keep her bowels moving. She dilated to 10 cms at her planned home birth and the baby's head did not descend. She was transported after some time at 10 cms with no urge to push.

At the hosp., the staff took the situation as a "challenge" to prove that they could get the baby born vag when the mws couldn't at home--that's a good thing, no matter what the reasoning. So, after 6 hrs more of doing everything they possibly could to get baby born, a c section was done. On opening the abdomen, a fibroid tumour the size of a baked potato was found instead of a hernia.

The woman had had an u/s so the u/s results were requested from her dr. Yes, there it was in black and white---a well defined dx of fibroid. The dr had never read the report. Lesson learned by mw, always make sure you get the paper work from tests that have been done and read them carefully yourself!
