I am sorry to have to post that Jennifer W. a Midwife at the Birth Center of Gainesville, Fl is on life support. I am so sorry if anyone who is close to her is finding out this way. (I am posting so we could rally some help.)
Contact J.L. another midwife to donate breastmilk.... mommidwife@gmail.com
I would rather not post all the detials, but it seems she had a seizure as she was being rushed to emergency c-section for eclampsia. She has not regained consciousness.
Her baby is doing great. A girl, thriving well, even though she was just 35 weeks.
I am posting in hope that anyone who knew her, other Midwives and like minded women may want to help her family. Please, if you knew her, do not call the family, they can not handle phone calls right now. If you need to contact the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery, in G'ville, FL, there is a contact person there handling clothes donations, baby items, food preparation and meals, breastmilk donations, gift certificate donations, etc.
They are looking for breastmilk donations from Mothers whose baby's are very young, they have gotten a donation of colostrum thus far (but may need more if it could be given immediatly).
Also, her husband, who is a school teacher will need some support to get through this.
There will be a website, I am assuming, steaming from the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery and BCOG website, where others can sign up for tasks to help her family and pledges of support. When it is up I will post a link.
Please keep this Midwife mamma and her family in your thoughts and prayers. We are all so very sad about her parting from us.
(PM me if you have colostrum or a very young baby and live in FL or could get it here fast. I'll find out who is coordinating it.) (Do not send it through link below)
